
Elfar Adalsteins
Director – Sailcloth starring John Hurt
Elfar Adalsteins is a filmmaker who lives in Buckinghamshire, England.
His directorial debut Subculture starring Tuppence Middleton (Sirens, Tormented), Joseph Kennedy (Sex Drugs & Rock ‘n Roll) and acclaimed actor Mark Womack (Route Irish) tells the story of a streetwise social outcast who has taken a young runaway girl under his wing. The short was filmed in Hammersmith last year and was also written and produced by Elfar.
In his second short film Sailcloth, Elfar got the great opportunity to work with the world renowned actor John Hurt (Elephant Man, Midnight Express, Aliens, Shooting Dogs). Again, he wrote, produced and directed the film, which was recentlyawarded the Grand Jury Prize for Best Short Film at the Rhode Island Film Festival, qualifying it for a recommendation to the short film Oscars and is currently on the Academy’s shortlist of 10 films. The 18 minute non dialogue piece tells the story of an elderly widower that sets in motion series of events to hide his
disappearance from a nursing home.
After completing the Director’s Series at the National Film and Television School conducted by director Brian Gilbert (Tom & Viv, Wilde) Elfar studied Digital Filmmaking at the Met Film School run at Ealing Studios. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from Reykjavik University, Iceland. Before making the full time transition to writing and directing, Elfar was on the production team of Country Wedding by Vald and Mamma Gogo by Oscar; nominee Fridrik Thor Fridriksson. Currently he is on the development team of Black Rabbit Summer, scheduled for production in 2012 in collaboration with Ruby Films (Elizabeth, Jane Eyre, Fish Tank).

In ‘Penance’ she crafts another memorable, albeit chilling performance as ‘Eve’ the unsympathetic french prison warden aka villainess in this disturbing thriller. Equally adept at both comedy and drama, she continues to gain notoriety as one of the most versatile actresses in the industry, and can be frequently seen demonstrating her comedic chops as Mrs Koothrappali in the hugely successful CBS TV sitcom ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Alice recently guest starred on the high rating primetime TV show ‘Outsourced’ and can be seen shortly on ‘The Whole Truth’.

London born Shaun Parkes vast array of credits include lead and title roles in some of the UK’s finest dramas including: ’Moses Jones’, ’Casanova’ and ’Harley Street’. Miramax’s cult film ’Human Target’ launched Shaun as a star of big screen and propelled him to huge hits like ’The Mummy Returns’ and ’Notes on A Scandal’. Now Shaun is about to grace our screens in ABC’s brand new thriller ’The River’ starring as cameraman Adjay (Andreus Jude Poulaine).
Shaun discovered his love for entertainment at an early age and studied drama at Seltec College for two years, before being accepted into one the UK’s most prestigious drama schools ‘The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art’ (RADA).
On graduation Shaun enjoyed numerous roles on screen and stage, but it was ’Human Traffic’ that launched Shaun as an on screen star. This cutting edge film was directed by Justin Kerrigan and starring John Simm, Lorraine Pilkington and Danny Dyer, the film follows five friends as they spend a lost weekend in a mix of music, love and club culture. The film has become a major cult classic, influencing an entire generation of club-goers and setting a new standard for youth orientated comedy dramas.
Shaun’s versatility can be seen in many of his roles including the title role detective Moses Jones in ’Moses Jones’, Frederick Matkin in ’Servants’, Casanova’s sidekick Rocco in Russell T Davies ’Casanova’, Dr. Ekkow Obiang in ‘Harley Street’, Felix Masuku in ‘Strike Back’ and DS Anthony Wareing in ‘Identity’.
Academy trained actor Shaun hasn’t lost his love for treading the boards and has starred alongside David Threlfall and Neil Stuke in Joe Penhall’s award-winning play, ’Blue Orange’, in the West End in Kwame Kwei-Armah’s ’Eiliman’s Kitchen’ and at famous Shakespeare’s Globe as Aaron in ’Titus Andronicus’.
He is also known for many roles on the big screen including the wacky character Koop in ’The Mummy Returns’, Rob in ’Clubbed’ and Bill Rummer in ’Notes on A Scandal’ alongside starring Dame Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett.
In latest work Shaun will play the well-known character Pirate George Merry in Sky1 HD’s adaptation of the much-loved Robert Louis Stevenson classic ’Treasure Island’. With other cast member’s including Elijah Wood, Donald Sutherland and Daniel Mays, it is set in the dangerous world of buccaneers, and promises to be a high octane adventure following the story of gutsy young lad Jim Hawkins as he discovers Flint’s treasure map.
Shaun also co-stars in ABC’s brand new show ’The River’, this wonderful thriller is Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli’s. Shaun plays Adjay (Andreus Jude Poulaine), a British veteran cameraman, and part of the crew filming the expedition to find the missing Emmet Cole.

Actor Hakeem Kae-Kazim classically trained in the UK at the highly regarded Bristol Old Vic and soon after graduation was invited to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. While playing at the National Theatre, Hakeem received glowing reviews sharing the stage with critically acclaimed actors for his performances as Edmund in ‘King Lear’ with Brian Cox, and Tyrell in ‘Richard III’ with Sir Ian McKellan. Janina Anderson is from Wales in the UK. She caught the acting bug at the tender age of 9 and spent a happy childhood performing. Inspirational teachers quickly noticed her talent and throughout her younger years she enjoyed playing in wonderful productions including ‘Annie’, ‘Gypsy’, ‘Oklahoma’, ‘Romeo & Juliet’, ‘Damn Yankees’, ‘Under Milk Wood ‘and ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’. It wasn’t long before she was picked to be a part of HTV’s Wales junior drama workshop, which provided a casting pool of talent for Television in Wales. Jan also appeared in Productions at the Sherman theatre in Cardiff for 5 years. The small screen soon beckoned and at the tender age of 15 Jan already headed her own show, hosting the popular teenage magazine program ‘The Gen’. Her love for acting lead her to train at the Welsh College of Music and Drama to train.
Moving to the capital of London, leads in more theatre productions and independent films beckoned. Jan’s talent and beauty was soon noticed and she was snapped up in her first series regular at the age of only 20, in the BBC’s Prime Time drama ‘Tiger Bay’ playing wild child ‘Jodie Marsh’. This head strong and fearless girl was much like Janina at that time and was a joy for her to play. Soon becoming a fan favorite, she starred in Miramax’s infamous ‘Human Traffic’. After filming this cult flick Janina landed the role of nurse ‘Chloe Hill’ in the BBC’s popular primetime drama ‘Casualty’ and starred in this show for 5 years. Having itchy feet and wings that needed to fly, Janina left this number one show and played leading characters in many more. Including news reporter ‘Sandie Booth’ in ITV’s ‘The Bill’, ‘Fran Morris’ In ‘Doctors’ and a cameo in the UK’s funniest comedy ‘French & Saunders’ with Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. Tehmina Sunny
CHILDREN OF MEN, SINGULARITY, ARGO, NCIS, CALIFORNICATION, HEROES AND UNDERCOVERES
Tehmina Sunny is rapidly making her mark in both film and television. Noticed by industry icon and Oscar nominated director Roland Joffe, she was selected for his epic adventure ‘Singularity’ which will appear in theaters in 2012, working alongside Neve Campbell and Josh Hartnett. Tehmina is also currently working on ‘Argo’, Ben Affleck’s eagerly awaited production in collaboration with George Clooney and directed by Ben Affleck.
Her earliest works include collaborating with multi- award winning director Mike Figgis for an adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s novel ‘The Ground Beneath Her Feet’ portraying Vina, a tainted scarred character whose story is told over many decades within the film, transitioning an age range from a teen to early forties. The performance work combined music and film that premiered at the inaugural Manchester International Festival in England with Alan Rickman as the narrator. She was handpicked to play a futuristic underground gang member in the Oscar nominated project ‘Children of Men’, directed by Alfonso Cuaron in his adaptation of P.D. James novel working with Clive Owen and Julianne Moore.
On the small screen Tehmina has portrayed a retrospective of characters in Emmy award winning productions including NCIS, Californication, Heroes and Undercovers, alongside the talented David Duchovny, Rufus Sewell and Mark Hammon.
She has recently completed the Independent feature ‘Elevator’ playing a quick witted New York TV news reporter whose world tumbles down in the space on one night. Working with talented and gifted members of the entertainment community including Shirley Knight, Joey Slotnick and John Getz, the psychological thriller will be circuiting the film festivals in the latter part of 2011.
Born in London, her passion for the arts was developed at an early age. She received a scholarship for playing the violin, Viola and piano. With no previous training she was a finalist for the BBCs cross-country search for acting talent, a nationwide competition battling against tens of thousands. From that point she appeared in numerous school productions exploring her newfound talent.
She decided to put her artistic dreams aside and focused on achieving a more “stable” life as a computer programmer. She attended the University of Leeds in England, where she studied Business Information Systems with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science. This combined with marketing and business studies earned her a Bachelor of Science degree with honors.
Tehmina’s language skills as well as her ability to transition smoothly between British, American, Indian and Middle Eastern accents have given her a wide national appeal, thus allowing her to naturally carve a niche in the entertainment industry.

British actor Luing Andrews began his career as a stunt man and directly after training was offered his first feature ‘Called Home’, daring Luing not only acted in this exciting film but also performed his own stunts including a cliff fall and car crash!
After being offered a place at the prestigious LAMDA his love for acting grew and on graduation Luing was snapped up to work alongside Pauline Quirk and Graham Cole in the UK’s high rating police drama ‘The Bill’. In another fan favourite ‘Silent Witness’ Luing starred as Ash Williams alongside Amanda Burton. Soon he became a regular on British Television with primetime shows like ‘Whitechapel II’, ‘Wings of Love’, ‘Afterlife II’, ‘Footballers Wives’ ‘Green Grass’, ‘My Family’ and ‘Worst Christmas of My Life’. Luing enjoyed playing a gangster Lieutenant with Scott Maslen in the TV version of ‘Lock Stock’ and Raz in the UK’s number one soap Eastenders alongside talented actor John Bardon. In one of his most heartfelt roles yet Luing played biker with a heart Henry Swindell in the nations much loved hospital drama ‘Casualty’ starring with the main characters Josh and Charley.
Film soon came calling and Luing was offered the lead in ‘The Heavy’ as villain Thomas Black in ‘Flugel der liebe’ (Wings of Love’). As well as ‘Bronson’, ‘Football Factory’, ‘The Oxford Murders’, ‘The Pimp’, ‘The Tribe’ and ‘The Sculptress’.
Currently Luing is filming ‘The Royal Bodyguard’ alongside the much-loved David Jason, playing a character who this time on the right side of the law PC Clive Roberts. Showing his comedic side in the upcoming British comedy ‘Him and Her’ Luing plays the feisty father Colin and in contrast to his usual bad boy roles, is the guardian angel and face of Motor Cycle News.

British actor Darren Darnborough started his career in the UK, performing in numerous prestigious stage productions. The UK is also where his love for the camera began! Darren appeared on hugely popular Television series including the Nations Number 1 TV show BBC’s ‘Eastenders’, the exciting and high rating hospital drama ‘Holby City’, another favorite ITV’s ‘The Bill’ and ‘Pie in The Sky’.
Darren has enjoyed many leading roles in films such as ‘Gracie’, ‘The Car’, ‘Lost in Cannes’ and ‘Nobody the Great’, which was premiered in LA and his home town of London. ‘Nobody the Great’ won the Viewers Voice Award for Best Film at Cinequest 2007, as well as winning several other major awards. You will also have seen Darren in several national commercials such as Nestlé’s Golden Grahams, Dr. Pepper, Burger King, McDonalds, Haagen Dazs and Pizza Hut to name but a few.

Treva Etienne was featured in the blockbuster Terminator Salvation and recently appeared as a guest star on NBC’s new JJ Abrams drama Undercovers.Previously Treva had a re-ocurring role in the NBC drama The Philanthropist, shot entirely on location in S.Africa. His featured movie roles include Pirates of the Caribbean – Curse of the Black Pearl, Bad Boys II, Black Hawk Down and Eyes Wide Shut and has guest starred on24, Criminal Minds, Medium, Charmed, Angel and Threat Matrix. In 2009, he starred in three independent movies – Tic, Compulsion, and Green Street Hooligans 2. Other indie roles includeMasked and Anonymous, The Changeling, English as a Second Language, Desert Vows and Japan with Peter Fonda. He just completed shooting the indie film “Barroom Babies” in Arizona, produced a short documentary on homeless teens in LA and is currently co-producing a feature length documentary on Archbishop Desmond Tutu for his 80th birthday celebration for Oct 2011.
In the UK he is best known for leading roles in hit TV dramas like the sci-fi seriesThe Last Train, London’s Burning, and the BAFTA/RTS award winning drama series Holding On, The Godsend, Casualty, The Bill, Only Fools and Horses, Desmond’s and Sir Peter Hall’s The Final Passage. After training with the BBC as a director, he wrote and directed his first short filmThe Promise of Strangers. His television credits include writing, producing and directing two seasons of the BBC’s award winning comedy sketch show The Real McKoy. He wrote and directed two award winning short films, Driving Miss Crazywhich won the HBO Best Short Film in Acapulco, and A Woman Scorned which won a Best Short Film prize at the Hollywood Scarefest Film Fest”. Both films were screened on Channel 4 in the UK , and played film festivals in the United States, Europe and Africa. He also produced his first project in LA, a pilot drama about the paparazzi called “Tretch’.
He ran his former company, Crown Ten productions for five years, developing young writers in drama & comedy and running media training programs in schools. He co-produced a short documentary titled ”Arts in the Community”, with BBC Schools. He produced the BBC radio drama Rushdie and The Bajan Mafia (a radio comedy pilot). Other production credits include The New Generation (Producer – BBC comedy pilot) and Club Class (Creator/ Director – Ch 5 comedy pilot). The company secured funding from HRH Prince Charles Business Trust. On three occasions, Treva presented The Duke of Edinburgh Awards to 200 children/teenagers at Buckingham Palace and St. James Palace with HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Edward. Treva sat on the UK Film Council Review Group with Chris Smith MP – former Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and established UK Film industry producers and practioners.

David has just completed filming the lead role in ‘The Hunting of the Snark’, an exciting new Hollywood film adaptation of the famed Lewis Carol story, which features narration by British screen legend Sir Christopher Lee.
Before making the move to Los Angeles, David was already a popular face on British television. After starring in the hit Channel 4 comedy ‘Dogma TV’ David went on to enjoy many critically acclaimed performances on high rating British television shows, including the popular BBC comedies ‘Love Soup’ and ‘Pulling’ and the BAFTA award winning police drama ‘The Bill’.
David has also been the face of numerous award winning television commercials for many of the worlds biggest brand names, including Coca-Cola ,Virgin and IBM.
