ARTURO MÉNDIZ – Producer

Degree in Audiovisual Communication from Universidad de Barcelona (UB) and European Master in Audiovisual Management (MEGA), from the Media Business School. The works produced by Mendiz have won more than 250 awards among which you can highlight 2 Goya Awards and a Golden Palm at the Cannes Films Festival.

DANIEL VILLANUEVA – Producer

Screenwriter, Producer and Director. Higher Technician in Audiovisual Production, Radio and Shows by IES la Mercè (Barcelona). He has also completed various courses on film written and directed fiction.
As a film producer, he stands out as an Associate Producer in the fiction short films ‘El Fin del Mundo será en Brasil’ (directed by Sergi Portabella) and ‘El Barco Pirata’ (directed by Fernando Trullols) both produced by Bastian Films. The short ‘El Barco Pirata’ won 20 awards, including the Goya Award 2012. Producer of the short films ‘Intenciones (directed by Ivan Casajús) and’ ‘Timecode’ (directed by Juanjo Giménez). Executive Producer of the short film ‘Marcianos de Marte’ (directed by Fernando Trullols). He currently works in the field of training as Director of the Reus Film School (ECIR) and in the development of his first animated feature called ‘Carnivaland’.

PERE ALTIMIRA – Co-Writer

Born in Barcelona in 1970, he graduated in music teaching, in what he is currently working on. In addition, he studied directing and screenwriting, and collaborated as a scriptwriter in a couple of children’s animation series and some humorous television show. He has written, along with Juanjo Giménez, the short films “Máxima Pena”, “Nit bus”, “Rodilla” and “Timecode”, winner of Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. He has, in its drawer, several scripts of films, projects of Sit Com, competitions, and a pair of novels. In the drawer…

IVÁN CÉSTER – Music Composer

Born in Zaragoza in 1975, Iván has been combining his musical activity with science for several years. While studying physics he created two jazz bands for which he composed, arranged and played guitar. Most of his musical training to date is autodidactic, with which he combined three years of classical guitar study before turning to contemporary music, studying contemporary guitar and music theory with guitarist Jose Antonio Garcia for six years and completing his education with several courses of music production. Since 2014 he’ s been taking orchestration and film scoring harmony lessons with composer Javier Bayon.

After his studies in physics, he worked as a guitarist, bassist and singer for two years with Espectáculos La Clave S.L., performing more than 100 concerts. He moved to Barcelona in 2004 where he worked as music composer for NoFunciona multimedia and music editor for Leo Caballo (SONY Digital Division). He also played Brazilian guitar with Nue Bossa and Porta 16. In 2007, he began work in Applied Neuroscience at Starlab Barcelona, S.L. From the symbiotic combination of both fields, he undertook several projects concerning the sonification of cerebral electrical activity and Brain Computer Interface (BCI) applied to music creation. Some of this work has been exhibited in international Neuroscience and BCI conferences, and Digital art festivals. Some of them are:

-FADE festival 2009,
-Dorkbot Barcelona and SONAR 2013.
-SONAR+D Barcelona 2015 where his project “Closed Loop” was awarded with a price for the best music performance based on biosignals.
-Brain Polyphony (in Collaboration with Mara Diersen) was presented in CCCB (Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona) in March 2016

His work at Barin Plyphony project will be presented at Andrea Lamount’ s documentary “Brain Beat” (Lukimedia Barcelona) to be released in November 2016.

He also composed for video mapping and ceremonies. His most relevant works in this area are:

-The music for a Videomaping in the Al qasba Theater at the Sharjah Light Festival 2016.
-The music of the closing show at the “San Sebastian European Culture Capital 2016” opening ceremony.

Currently he is working for Summer76music as a composer for commercials for brands like Audi, BMW, Nike, McDonalds and Nestle among others.

XAVI SAUCEDO – Sound Designer

Born in Barcelona, Xavi Saucedo graduated Telecommunications Engineering with a special focus on Telematics at the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona and moved on to studying Film Editing and Sound at the Centre d’Estudis Cinematogràfics of Catalonia. In 2010 he attended and assisted in two seminars on Sound Aesthetics and Sound Mixing respectively, both presented by Mark Berger, four-time Academy Award winner.

He has ever since worked as a Sound Designer and Sound Mixer at Wave Factory Studio, the sound studio he founded in 2009.
His work includes TV and advertising, yet his primary focus is cinema, having taken in part in several feature films including international projects such as Pierre Morel’s “The Gunman”, starring Sean Penn; “Get Up and Go”, by Irishman Brendan Grant, or “Snails in the Rain”, from Israeli filmmaker Yariv Mozer. His career path has taken him through several internationally acclaimed projects like “La Historia de Siempre”, “El Corredor” or the 2016 Cannes winner of the Short Film Palme d’Or, “Timecode”.

PERE PUEYO – Cinematographer

Cinematographer with extensive professional camera department experience in features, television and documentaries since 1990. Director of Photography credits beginning in 1994 on independent feature films, documentaries, short films and video clips (35mm, 16mm and digital). Taught cinematography at the International Film School in Cuba as well with numerous workshops there from 2004 to 2014. Director of Photography for Timecode (short film) winner or the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2016.
